Position Overview

Terakoya, located in Iida, Nagano, is a private school offering math and English tuition to diverse learners. We are currently seeking an English teacher to join our team at the earliest opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver engaging English lessons for students of various ages and proficiency levels.
Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Collaborate with Japanese teachers for certain classes.
Plan lessons and select study materials based on student needs and interests.

Qualifications

Native English speaker.
University or college degree.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Friendly, outgoing, and adaptable personality.
Japanese language proficiency is not necessary.

Working Conditions

Teach a diverse range of students, from kindergarteners to adults.
Flexible schedule with lessons ranging from 45 to 90 minutes.
Participate in lessons at the school, local businesses, and community centers.
Take initiative in lesson planning, material selection, and curriculum development.
Maintain a relaxed and friendly teaching environment with no formal dress code at the school or community center.
